LHT65N Use Case
A greenhouse can lose a season's work in a single night. A paraffin heater runs out, an electric heater trips, or an unexpected late frost arrives - and by morning a bench of seedlings is gone. The opposite happens too: a sunny April afternoon with the vents shut can push a polytunnel past 40°C while everyone is busy elsewhere.
The Dragino LHT65N puts a temperature and humidity sensor in every growing space, reporting over LoRaWAN to Trackpac - no Wi-Fi, no mains power - so you get a frost or overheat alert on your phone instead of a nasty surprise. It suits commercial nurseries, market gardens, plant centres, schools and serious hobby growers alike.
The number one reason growers want monitoring. An alert at 3°C buys time to fix the heater or cover the crop before it reaches freezing.
Glass and polythene heat up fast in sunshine. A high temperature alert tells you when vents need opening or shade needs drawing.
Sustained high humidity - especially overnight - favours grey mould and mildew. The humidity history shows when ventilation or heating needs adjusting.
Push the external probe into the compost on a heated bench to check propagation temperatures are where your germination guide says they should be.
Built-in temperature
-40 to 80°C, typical ±0.3°C accuracy, 0.01°C resolution.
Built-in humidity
0 to 96 %RH, 0.04 %RH resolution.
2m external probe
-55 to 125°C. ±0.5°C from -10 to 85°C, ±2°C across the full range.
2400mAh battery
Replaceable, rated for up to 10 years depending on reporting interval.
Datalog
Stores readings when out of coverage so they can be retrieved later.
LoRaWAN EU868
Works with standard LoRaWAN gateways and the Helium network.
Specifications from the Dragino LHT65N datasheet.
Keep it out of direct sun
Sunlight on the sensor body will read several degrees above the real air temperature. Mount it at crop height in a shaded spot, or under a simple ventilated cover, and away from irrigation spray.
Mount where the cold sits
Cold air sinks. For frost protection, the reading near the coldest bench or the floor-level crop is more useful than one by the door at head height.
On a larger site, one LoRaWAN gateway at the office or farmhouse can typically cover every greenhouse and tunnel - and the same network can carry soil moisture, tank level and other smart agriculture sensors as you expand.

Get Started
An LHT65N in each greenhouse or tunnel, with frost and overheat alerts from Trackpac straight to your phone.
Yes. With an LHT65N reporting to Trackpac, you set a low-temperature alert rule - for example below 3°C - and Trackpac sends an SMS, email or push notification as soon as a reading crosses it. That gives you time to check the heater or add fleece before the crop is damaged.
Long periods of high humidity, especially overnight when condensation forms on leaves, create ideal conditions for fungal diseases such as grey mould (botrytis) and downy mildew. Tracking humidity tells you when to ventilate, heat or space plants out.
The 2m external temperature probe can measure a second point - such as compost temperature on a heated propagation bench, or the outside air temperature through a vent - while the built-in sensor measures air temperature and humidity inside the greenhouse.
No. The LHT65N uses LoRaWAN, which can reach a gateway several kilometres away in open countryside. One gateway at the farmhouse or nursery office can cover every greenhouse and polytunnel on site, and the sensor runs on a battery rated for up to 10 years.
